"I sacrifice my time,
my energy,
even a part of my health to create something that is priceless, meaningless and yet means everything."
I never studied art.
Not because I couldn't but because I was afraid of what I would lose.
Someone else's rules inside my mind, someone else's vision.
I chose to protect what I didn't fully understand yet: my own way of seeing.
That instinct was the most important artistic decision I ever made.
This work did not exist before me. I grew it from inside myself and placed it in the world.
So it matters that you can see it and feel it.
Creativity was placed inside me when I arrived. It is the highest gift a person can carry. And when I put it into paint, I am trying to give you a piece of that.
I don't paint what I know. I paint a world I keep entering and still cannot figure it out.
